I for one am both a reader and a collector, although I couldn't possibly find the time to read all of the books in my collection.I have collected books all of my life, but when I learned that some books were worth a fortune, I changed my thinking on what type of books to collect. I had always thought that rare, old antiquarian books were the only ones worth any money. When I discovered that many modern first editions post 1970's were worth more than some of the older books it opened my eyes. They are plentiful, cheap and many people pass by them everyday without knowing they are valuable. The problem is that there are so many different variables in determining whether the book is a $5000 book or a $5.00 one.
